ACDIS, the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists, the leading national association for CDI specialists, has launched the first annual Clinical Documentation Improvement Week, September 18-24, 2011.
Danvers, MA (PRWEB) September 21, 2011
The first Clinical Documentation Improvement Week is taking place from September 18th – 24th as healthcare organizations across the country recognize and celebrate the value of clinical documentation improvement programs and the unique skills and expertise of CDI specialists.
This week of recognition has been developed by ACDIS, the premier professional organization in the nation for CDI specialists. As a part of the ongoing CDI Week activities, and with support from their partners MetaHealth and Chartwise, ACDIS is offering a free download of the national CDI Week Industry Overview Survey, examining the state of the industry in areas including career advancement, data mining and reporting, electronic queries, and more. The research report is being offered along with daily interviews from industry experts.
The Association has also created additional resources for CDI specialists and program directors across the nation, including an electronic toolkit, media resources, and communication messages for medical staff and organization-wide education, all available at www.acdis.org.
“CDI is its own profession regardless of the background of the individual performing the job. CDI specialists have their own unique needs and knowledge base. That’s what ACDIS is all about and that is why ACDIS was created-to support those needs.” – Brian Murphy, CPC, ACDIS Director, Danvers, MA.
