ChartWise Medical Systems, Inc. the developer of CharWise:CDI, will exhibit its innovative computer-assisted clinical documentation improvement (CACDI) software, which includes support for both the current ICD-9 and forthcoming ICD-10 coding systems, at HIMSS12 in Las Vegas. ChartWise:CDI assists hospitals with improving the quality and completeness of their clinical documentation in order to help optimize DRG related-reimbursements, reduce audit risk and provide oversight and compliance.
“Most CDI vendors are focusing solely on the software they will provide once ICD-10 hits,” says Dr. Jon Elion, founder and CEO of ChartWise. “What ChartWise does is enable clinical documentation specialists and coders to become familiar with the new ICD-10 codes now, by showing the ICD-10 equivalent codes to the user. This exposure over the next couple years will prove invaluable when everything changes over. With this in mind, we look forward to demonstrating the value of our cross-reference functionality to the attendees of HIMSS.”
ChartWise’s new functionality will not only be a benefit to its customers leading up to the transition to ICD-10, but will prove a useful tool afterwards as well, by allowing the user to view the older ICD-9 equivalent of the new ICD-10 codes.
ChartWise Medical Systems will be exhibiting at HIMSS12 at both #3669.
